My approach to architecture

My approach and ambitions in architecture are deeply influenced by my cultural background and my experiences in Scandinavia. Born in Lithuania, I grew up in a typical concrete apartment building. However, every weekend, we would leave the city to visit my grandparents' house in the countryside. Both living environments had their unique advantages, but my grandparents' house became a symbol of sustainable architecture and a self-sufficient lifestyle. This experience taught me to understand the lifecycle of buildings in relation to the human lifespan.

I appreciate the beauty of building with wood and creating structures that are compostable, leaving no trace on the earth. This philosophy is deeply rooted in Baltic mentality and pagan culture, which emphasizes a profound respect for nature. With this cultural foundation, I moved to Scandinavia and attended architecture and design schools in Oslo, Stockholm, Reykjavik, and Aarhus. Through these experiences, I gained a broad perspective on various approaches to architecture and creativity. Denmark, particularly my master's studies at the Aarhus School of Architecture, had the most significant impact on my way of thinking and working.
